ABOUT ME

I was born in Israel in 1978 and ever since I can remember I was holding a pencil in my hand. Everywhere I went I took my sketchbook with me, starting doodling everybody around me. It came to the point that one bright day I got up and thought –I might as well make a living out of it.

In 2001 I started my traditional animation studies at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. I paid my way through college working as a freelance caricaturist. After graduating in 2005 I started working as a character animator for Pitchipoy Animation Aroductions in Israel , and also kept my freelance caricature, illustration and animation business going. In 2006 my wife and I moved to San Francisco , where I am currently enrolled as an MFA candidate at the Academy of art University.

Why caricatures?

Because I get bored by drawing things exactly as they are. To my opinion, the real challenge is to distort people, and still make them recognizable. Beside, I always tend to exaggerate…

Why animation?

This is the perfect matching for me. In addition to my love for plastic art, I am also very into film making. This form of story telling, called Animation, seems to be the perfect combination of both.
